The following are some selected historic facts about our Lodge from Jan 6, 1909 to Jan 8, 2009.

I have read about 1000 of our meetings and feel the following are some of the more interesting facts about our Lodge.

Our present building was formerly the Wesleyan Day School or Grammar School, built around 1864. It was a two story building with boys on the bottom floor and girls on the top. It  was also used by the Sons of Temperance Society. Eventually this building was closed when a new school was built in 1908. The Board of Trustees of the Methodist Church held a meeting on February 17, 1909 and decided to put the building up on public auction. However, on June 19th, the Boys Brigade requested the use of the building temporally and it was granted. Again, by December 1st the Trustees decided to sell the building by tender. Shortly after this the Masonic purchased the building from the Methodist Church for $400 dollars. Over the year the Masonic Lodge became the place for many high class social events. The lodge is still active today and will be celebrating their 100th Anniversary this year. It is interesting to note that in the early years of the organization the only way to get to the lodge was to go up Meeting House Lane or the later Cemetery Lane. Today, Masonic Avenue with take you directly there.
